Nawal Kishore's artistic journey began with his education, earning a BFA in painting in 2000 followed by an MFA in 2004 from the Lucknow College of Arts & Crafts, Uttar Pradesh, supplemented by an Art Appreciation course at the State Museum, Lucknow, in 1999. He furthered his artistic pursuits with a research grant from the Lalit Kala Academi, New Delhi, where he worked at the Garhl art studio from 2001 to 2002.
