Pragathi Hegde's Painting
Pragathi Hegde's Profile

Pragathi Hegde

Pragati's artistic journey began around a decade ago, circa 2008, when she attended weekend painting classes for approximately three years under the tutelage of the esteemed artist and teacher Sanjeev Das. During this period, she gained valuable insights into various techniques and tricks, experimenting with oil as her medium of choice. However, she grappled with the prolonged drying time of oil paints, often finding herself unable to complete the paintings she started as her interests shifted. Consequently, she came to believe that her passion for art was lacking and ceased her artistic pursuits altogether. Many years later, in 2020, Pragati's dream of owning her ideal home coincided with the onset of the lockdown, providing her with the perfect opportunity to reignite her passion for painting. Embracing loose and confident brushstrokes and the fluidity of watercolor, she resumed her artistic endeavors with renewed vigor. Seeking inspiration and guidance from various online sources, including Jean Haines' art school, she is driven by a desire to continuously refine her techniques and develop a distinctive, loose signature style. Inspired by artists such as Yuko Nagayama, Jean Haines, Adisorn Pornsirikarn, and Thomas W Schaller, Pragati is committed to creating art that not only reflects her growth as an artist but also fills her with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
